Blue poppy seeds are generally a baking ingredient for rolls, pastries, and desserts. They are also used as a spice or for oil extraction. It also carries the Latin name papaver somniferum. It is also native to the eastern Mediterranean.

The poppy seeds not only have a sweet fragrance but also develop a nut-like aroma in the preparation. This taste is stronger by heating as well as baking as well as roasting.

Poppy also has a high protein and oil content. Its antiseptic, anesthetic and analgesic effects have been well known for thousands of years. And poppy oil is especially good for osteoporosis.
